How PIM Atlas works

PIM Atlas profiles every vendor on one template, from public and verifiable sources, and dates each profile so readers know how current it is.

Scope

The atlas covers software that manages product information for commerce and distribution: PIM platforms, product MDM, PXM and syndication platforms, open source PIM, combined DAM and PIM suites, and PIM modules native to ERP or commerce ecosystems. The current edition profiles 47 vendors and publishes 46 knowledge-base articles.

Inclusion criteria

  • The product manages structured product information (attributes, relations, variants, channel output) as a core capability.
  • It is commercially available and actively developed, with a release or verifiable product news in the past 24 months.
  • The vendor serves customers in Europe, globally, or both.

How profiles are compiled

Each profile records headquarters, founding year, ownership, deployment options, target segments, regions, industries, capabilities, AI features, integrations, supported data standards and pricing model. Facts come from vendor documentation, press releases, regulatory filings and analyst announcements, and each profile lists its sources. Where a fact cannot be verified, the profile states "Not disclosed" instead of estimating.

Categories describe the dominant buying pattern for a product. Many vendors span several categories; the profile places each in the one that best predicts who shortlists it.

Editorial policy

PIM Atlas is vendor-neutral. Every vendor is described with the same structure, the same balance of strengths and considerations, and the same sourcing standard. Directory order is alphabetical. Comparison pages are generated from the same datasheet fields for every pair. Knowledge-base articles explain concepts, standards and regulation without recommending a vendor.

Currency

Every profile carries a "last verified" month, and articles carry an updated date. The atlas is re-verified on a rolling cycle, with ownership changes, acquisitions and regulatory dates checked first because they change fastest.

Corrections

Vendors and readers can submit factual corrections to editors@pimatlas.com. Include the page, the correction and a public source. Corrections are checked against the source before publication.

Machine-readable access

PIM Atlas publishes structured data (schema.org) on every page, an XML sitemap, and an llms.txt summary with a full-text companion so search engines and AI assistants can cite the atlas accurately.

Privacy

PIM Atlas does not require registration, does not use advertising trackers and does not sell personal data. The site stores your cookie choice and, on the comparison tool, your last selection in your own browser.

PIM Atlas uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Analytics cookies are set only after you select "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner.
